Introductory Course - Activities & Excursions

The activity programme follows a similar structure to the academic programme, where some activities are undertaken alongside Taunton School and Taunton School Preparatory students, whilst further opportunities are provided by the specialist activity programme specific to the course.

A wide range of sporting, cultural and creative activities are available and incorporate the best elements of Taunton School, Taunton School International and Taunton School Preparatory.

The Taunton School International Middle School facilities include: 

• Modern, comfortable twin-bedded room in newly refurbished boarding houses
• Spacious and light art studio
• ICT Suite
• Classrooms with interactive whiteboards
• Kitchen and dining facilities in the Orangery
• Oak panelled lounge and recreation room
• Picturesque lawns and gardens with outdoor games
• Attached woodland recreation area

In addition, the excellent facilities of Taunton School are also available for use including:

• 2 swimming pools
• Fitness Suite
• Sports fields
• 3 Sports Halls
• Tennis Courts
• 2 Theatres
• Music School

In addition, students will take part in one full day and one half day excursion per week.

• London - Capital City with Capital attractions
• Exeter - lively Cathedral city
• Bristol - important commercial centre of the south west
• Cardiff - vibrant Welsh capital
• Thorpe Park - one of Britain's largest theme parks

Possible half day excursions:

• Bath - Roman spa town
• Eden Project - natural biome experience
• Stonehenge - international heritage site
• Kilve - fossil hunting on the Jurassic coast
• Longleat - a safari at an English stately home
