Latest News› Variety Show (Jan 12)› Variety Show (Jan 12) GalleryFriday night saw the long awaited and much anticipated arrival of the Taunton School International Variety Show! After weeks of preparation from both organiser Mr Jones and the participating students, there was an air of excitement in the air as the hall filled to watch the 8 acts. As the hosts, Miss Leach & Ben Cutler, called up the entertainment, much laughter was heard throughout the hall. Iustin opened the show by wowing us with his amazing magic tricks. He is a skillful and acomplished performer who is perfecting his stagecraft to good effect We were also treated to a variety of musical delights by Leonardo, Kalvin, Lera, Makiko, Laurel and Esther, followed by some light-hearted comedy provided by Taunton School International’s very own synchronised swimming team! Max and Eduardo's dance routine and some toilet humour from Maher, Elimane and co-host Ben continued the light relief and showed the breadth of entertainment talent amongst the students on this year's course. Once all 8 acts had performed, it was time for judges Mrs Collier, Mrs Griffiths and Mrs Perriman to make a decision. In line with reality TV show 'The X Factor' the studio audience (the rest of the Taunton School International students) also voted and after a hilarious closing performance from Mr Jones and Mr Nixon, it was announced that Lera was the runner up and Thorsten, Shun, Sam, Ryota, Leon, Yuki and Roman F – our synchronised swimmers - were the winners, having provided the most entertainment. Congratulations to all that took part and to the audience for playing such an important role in the success of the evening! |
