Welcome back to another term here at Taunton School International. After a few days re-adjusting, students got straight back in to the swing of school life starting with an extremely busy weekend.

On Sunday, Mrs Calvert and Mr Yeabsley accompanied a group of chemistry students on a trip to Cheddar Gorge.  As probably one of the best examples of a limestone landscape in the UK, the trip to Cheddar Gorge gave students an excellent opportunity to observe and experience first hand, the processes of chemical weathering and erosion which combine to create such spectacular geological formations.  The trip brought alive the formulae and theoretical processes studied in the GCSE Chemistry course.

Although cold and a little frosty, the weather was kind and stayed dry and sunny all day. Cheddar is the home of the most popular cheese in the world, which was originally stored in the caves until matured. After visiting the caves, Mr Yeabsley persuaded a few of the students to climb up Jacobs ladder and appreciate the stunning views on such a clear day.  The trip was a huge success and a great day was had by all!
